Students under the age of 19:
New York State has two health insurance plans for kids, called Children's Medicaid and Child Health Plus.  Depending on your family's income, your child may be eligible to join one.  For more information or to apply call this toll-free  number 1-800-698-4kids ( or 1-800-698-4543)  TTY: 1-877-898-5849.

Students age 19 and older:
Health Insurance is an issue on the minds of many parents and students as they get ready to exit high school.   Typically, students entering college will continue to be covered under their parent/guardian's health insurance.  In addition, students who are eligible to stay in high school until age 21 are also covered under their parent/guardian's insurance.
