In Liverpool, middle schools are engaged in a book study. They are also mapping our their grading practices.
The elementary school in DeRuyter has been looking at standards-based grading for some time. They are working to understand that there is more to this than 1-2-3-4 and are building common understanding.
Schools in ESM have built steps into their action plans to make the transition.
Other schools are reading articles or holding asynchronous "discussions" on different electronic platforms.

Spilt into two halves based on book for 3x3; here are what our groups generated:
1.Communicate students’ acquisition of knowledge instead of an arbitrary percentage or letter
2.Values all students and their process, and product of learning
3.Grading should reflect the mastery of standards which may include accommodations and modifications

1.Clarify the purpose of grading and reporting.
2.Align all classroom and school policies and practices with the stated purpose.
3.Ensure proposed changes are supported by strong research evidence.

1.Accurate and specific feedback on achievement is a priority for our district.
2.All grading and reporting policies and procedures are aligned to providing accurate and consistent feedback for our students and parents.
3.Grading and reporting is a true measure of progress to support all learners with multiple opportunities to demonstrate success.
