Supporting a Professional Learning Community

We believe that the key to achieving the student learning and school culture we need depends on a school working as a Professional Learning Community.

PLC Support Group:

Four Critical Questions

Collaborative teams within schools that function as a PLC relentlessly focus their work on the following four critical questions:

  1. What is it we expect our students to learn?
  2. How will we know when they have learned it?
  3. How will we respond when some students do not learn?
  4. How will we respond when some students already know it?

Whether you were part of Summer 2014 Reenergize your PLC or not, come join other teams who are implementing Professional Learning Communities.

There are four half day sessions across the school year with on-line contact and continuing discussions all year.

Session topics include: Formative assessments and looking at data, a mid-year reflection and sharing of progress and challenges with support to continue to move forward, exploring the linkage between Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Professional Learning Communities (PLC), and sharing of tools, procedures and protocols all aimed at what works for different teams. Participants will have both team time and opportunities to share and learn from one another.
